02 · Money

What you own and what you owe

Money is separated into the categories that matter: what you can access today, what you expect later, and what is locked away for the long term.

Money sources

Track the money you can actually use today, and control exactly what counts toward your runway.

  • Checking account
  • Savings account
  • Dedicated emergency fund
  • Cash on hand
  • Money market / cash reserve
  • Brokerage cash and liquid investments
  • Other liquid assets

Expected future cash

Money you expect later is kept separate. It is never treated as available today, and it enters the simulation at its expected date.

  • Expected tax refund
  • Money owed to you
  • Other expected cash
  • Optional expected date for each entry

Assets

Record what you own, categorise it and see how it contributes to your net worth. Asset value is not treated as cash unless you say so.

  • Gold and silver
  • Property and vehicles
  • Investments and business value
  • Collectibles, art and domains
  • Optional outstanding loan per asset

Liabilities

Track every balance you still owe with its type, monthly payment and interest rate.

  • Mortgage
  • Credit card and student loan
  • Personal loan and car loan
  • Medical debt and BNPL
  • Business debt and other

Net worth, always up to date

Net worth is everything you own minus everything you owe. It recalculates the moment you change a balance, add an asset, or update a liability, and it is recorded into your history each month so you can see the trend over time.

03 · Cash Flow

Income in, spending out

A detailed catalog of income sources and expense categories, with baselines that stay stable and actuals you can record each month.

Income sources

Turn on only the sources that apply to you. Each one keeps its own baseline, current value and notes.

  • Freelance and side income
  • Part-time, second job and business income
  • Commission and bonus
  • Rental, interest and dividend income
  • Pension and public pension

  • Set a new baseline with one click
  • Sliders for fast adjustment
  • Exact value entry when you need precision

  • Drives the essential survival runway
  • Clearly marked in your expense list
  • Adjustable at any time

Planned versus actual

Plan at the start of the month, update during the month, then record what really happened. Finavore keeps the plan and the actual side by side, and shows exactly where your savings came from.

04 · Savings & Goals

What you keep and what you are building

Savings are tracked monthly and cumulatively, and every goal keeps its own progress, contribution and target date.

Savings tracking

See how much you kept this month, how that compares to last month, and how much you have saved so far this year.

  • Savings this month
  • Savings last month
  • Year-to-date savings
  • Cumulative savings
  • Savings rate as a percentage of income
  • Emergency fund shown separately

Goals

Give any goal a name, a target amount, an amount already saved and an optional monthly contribution.

  • Progress bar with percentage
  • Amount still remaining
  • Estimated months to reach the goal
  • Optional target date
  • Goal reached state
  • Archive completed goals

Where your savings came from

Finavore compares planned and actual amounts for the current month and shows which categories saved you money and which ones went over. No guessing, no spreadsheets.

05 · Runway & Stress Testing

How long would your money last?

The core of Finavore. A month-by-month simulation of your cash under the current plan, and under any what-if scenario you want to test.

Two runway figures

Every scenario produces two separate runway numbers, so you can see both the comfortable version and the survival version.

  • Current lifestyle runway
  • Essential survival runway
  • Estimated depletion date
  • Weeks remaining alongside months

Monthly cash burn

How much of your available money covers the gap between income and spending each month, and whether you are burning or saving.

  • Burn amount when spending exceeds income
  • Monthly surplus when income exceeds spending
  • Net cash flow including all active sources
  • Estimated ending cash after the month

Scenario presets

Apply a realistic what-if situation with one click, then compare the result against your current plan side by side.

  • Total job loss
  • 25% and 50% salary reduction
  • Freelance stops
  • Partner income drops
  • Entire household income loss
  • Rent +20%
  • Spending +10% and spending cut
  • Emergency expense

Custom scenarios

Build your own scenario when the presets are not enough. Adjust individual income sources, scale all expenses, or add your own events.

  • Set any income source to any value
  • Scale expenses from 40% to 200% of plan
  • Per-category expense adjustments
  • Add severance, temporary income or one-time costs

Compare against your baseline

Your scenario is always compared against your current plan. Finavore shows the baseline runway, the scenario runway and the difference in months, so the impact of a change is instantly visible.
